Drivetrain and Battery
The ID.4 will come in RWD and AWD options. The RWD will have a motor positioned between the rear wheels, and produces 201 horsepower and 288 lb-ft of instantaneous torque. RWD ID.4s will be here early 2021. The AWD with have two motors, one between the rear wheels and one between the front wheels, producing 302 horsepower from the two motors combined. AWD options will be available mid 2021
The battery provides an estimated 250 mile range and is located at the bottom center of the vehicle, providing a low center of gravity, which in turn increases performance and control. ID.4 is compatible with DC fast charing, bringing you from 5% charge to 80% in just over 30 minutes. Volkswagen will provide ID.4 drivers with 3 years of complimentary fast charging as well!
Exterior

With an available panoramic fixed glass roof and lighting system that includes an LED grille and front VW logo and even door handles, this is an EV that looks as great as it feels. Power and Performance

Technology
From a tech standpoint, the Volkswagen ID.4 comes in just as strong as it does in the performance category. It features a 10″ or 12″ center display and 5.3″ digital dash, operated by voice or gesture control. It also has wireless app connect, on board wifi, and wireless phone charging all built in.
Another intriguing new feature in the ID.Light. This intuitive light strip located at the base of the windshield communicates with the driver, providing glowing visual and acoustic cues to indicate charging status, warnings while driving, and even navigation cues! This ambient light strip will actually glow a specific color on one side or another to inform you of an upcoming turn.
Safety
This tech is cool, but there’s also features to keep you safe. The IQ drive suite includes intelligent travel and emergency assist, plus front, side, light and lane assist, as well as park distance control.
